Ashantigold CEO Emmanuel Frimpong And Other Officials Banned For Match-fixing

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) according to a release on their official website, has banned the CEO of Ashantigold Emmanuel Frimpong and other officials for match-fixing.

The Ghana FA stated they have found Ashantigold guilty of match manipulation after their investigations and have relegated them to Division Two.

This is mainly because of what happened in their matchday 34 fixture last season against Inter Allies at the Len Clay Stadium.

a. That the Chief Executive Officer of Ashantigold SC Emmanuel Frimpong is banned from taking part in any football-related activity for a period of 96 months in accordance with Article 34.5(d)(i) of the Ghana Premier League Regulations 2019.
b. That a fine of Fifty Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHc50,000) is imposed on the Chief Executive Officer of Ashantigold SC Emmanuel Frimpong in accordance with Article 34.5(d)(ii) of the Ghana Premier League
Regulations 2019.

Head Coach Thomas Duah:

The Head Coach of Ashantigold SC Thomas Duah is banned from taking part in any football-related activity for a period of 24 months in accordance with Article 34.5(d)(i) of the Ghana Premier League Regulations 2019.

Team Manager Aidoo Gee Ahmed:

The Team Manager of Ashantigold SC Aidoo Gee Ahmed is banned from taking part in any football-related activity for a period of 24 months in accordance with Article 34.5(d)(i) of the Ghana Premier League Regulations 2019.
