The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) follows in the footsteps of the African Football Confederation (CAF) and suspends the Chadian Football Federation (FTFA) with immediate effect due to political interference.
This suspension from FIFA was motivated by the latest decisions taken by the Chadian government authorities to permanently withdraw the powers delegated to the Chadian Football Federation (FTFA) and to create a national committee to temporarily manage football and take control of the premises of the federation.
Beyond the suspension, FIFA informs that it will be lifted once the relevant government decisions have been repealed and the Chadian Football Federation and its management, led by President Moctar Mahamoud Hamid, have confirmed that the premises of the FTFA are again under its control.
Last March, CAF suspended Chad for the same reason (political interference) and the team was withdrawn from the CAN 2021 qualifiers in Cameroon.
