New York Red Bulls right-back Kyle Duncan will join KV Oostende on January 1. First reported by Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad the story has since been confirmed by MLSSoccer.com. The 24-year-old will be a free agent after the end of the Major League Soccer season and is expected to leave on a free transfer. KV Oostende made the transfer official on November 25.

It is a significant deal for Oostende. Duncan had a strong season for a Red Bulls side that made the MLS Cup Playoffs on the final day of the regular season. Scoring one goal and three assists in 32 games, the right-back increased his market value to $2.2 million in the latest MLS market value update.

The New York Red Bulls have been trying to resign Duncan but the 24-year-old wanted to move to Europe and had offers from other clubs. According to MLSSoccer.com, Anderlecht, Metz, and Montpellier were also interested.
