Attacker Michael Vinicius was on target on his debut for Asante Kotoko against Bechem United in an outstanding Ghana Premier League game at the Len Clay Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.
The Porcupine Warriors after attacker Kwame Poku moved to Algerian club USM Alger signed the Brazilian Michael Vinicius Silva de Morais to replace Poku in the just-ended second transfer window.
Kotoko started the game brightly against Bechem United, Andy Kumi came close to scoring in the 2nd minute but his header was straight to the goalkeeper.
Gama was pulling the strings in midfield and played one through pass to Andy Kumi who put the ball into the net but the assistant referee had already flagged offside.
Abdul Ganiyu scored first for Kotoko in the 12th minute who made no mistake to hit the ball into the net after receiving Fabio Gama’s short free-kick.
Bechem United tried to catch Kotoko on the break but Charles Mensah’s effort on goal went wide.
In the 42nd minute, Fabio Gama hit a lovely shot into the net to make it 2-0 after great work from Andy Kumi.
After recess, the Porcupine Warriors continued where they left off in the first half pouring men forward and giving Bechem United no time on the ball.
Godfred Asiamah replaced Emmanuel Gyamfi in the 61st minute which was Kotoko’s first change.
Andy Kumi scored Asante Kotoko’s third goal in the 63rd minute who scored after great work from Salifu and Imoro Ibrahim. This game was Andy Kumi’s second appearance for the Porcupine Warriors.
Latif Anabila replaced Salifu in the 64th minute and Michael Vinicius replaced Andy Kumi in the 79th minute.
Michael Vinicius opened his account for Kotoko in the 82nd minute he curled in a shot after a couple of rebounds in the Bechem United box.
The game ended 4-0 and Asante Kotoko moves to third place on the league table.
