The Queen Mother of Akyem Kotoku Traditional Area, Nana Akua Asantewaa III, has advised the management of Kotoku Royals to be reliant on the blessings of God in their quest to make a meaningful impact in Ghana Premier League rather than focusing on the ‘black magic’.

“Spirituality in football has been twisted where clubs depend on juju to win matches. I encourage you never to focus on that, instead believe in God and pray all day for his help and victory in all things”, she told the team.

The Queen Mother gave the advice when the team paid a courtesy call on her at the palace after their coronation match against Susubiribi SC at the Akyem Oda Sports Stadium to crown them eventual winners of the National Division One League, Zone three.

The coronation match between Kotoku Royals FC and Susubiribi SC ended 2-2.

She then pledges her support to the team and also to engage high profile personalities to come on board to help, saying Football is now capital intensive and being the Queen Mother of Akyem Kotoku Traditional Area, I will support the growth of Kotoku Royals into the Ghana topflight.

In meeting the Queen Mother of Akyem Kotoku Traditional Area, Nana Akua Asantewaa III was gifted a signed Kotoku Royals Jersey.
