President Of Ashantigold Dr. Kwaku Frimpong Banned By GFA

President of Ghana Premier League club Ashantigold Dr. Kwaku Frimpong has been banned for 120 months by the GFA.

The GFA Disciplinary Committee verdict stated that:

“The President of Ashantigold SC Dr. Kwaku Frimpong is banned from taking part in any football-related activity for a period of 120 months in accordance with Article 34.5(d)(i) of the Ghana Premier League Regulations 2019”.

“a fine of One hundred Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHc100,000) is imposed on Dr. Kwaku Frimpong in accordance with Article 34.5(d)(ii) of the Ghana Premier League Regulations 2019”

Ashantigold was sanctioned by the GFA for match-fixing in their 2020/21 Ghana Premier League matchday 34 game against Inter Allies.

Ashantigold has been demoted to Division Two and according to the GFA, the decision will take effect in the 2022/23 league season.

Other Ashantigold officials and players have also received various degrees of sanctions from the Ghana Football Association in a verdict released on Monday 16th May 2022.
