According to RSC Anderlecht’s plans, the decision to purchase former WAFA player Majeed Ashimeru will be exercised at the end of the season.
A low option (2.5 million euros) for a player with a future, who seems to stick to Kompany’s style of play. But Ashimeru, after an encouraging start, now seems to show a bit of slowness: already very average at the end of the classic phase, the Ghanaian was squarely missing the mark in Bruges, often making the wrong choice.
Ashimeru however does not see his rating down for good yet; one would be surprised if he is left out of the eleven next week as Kompany seems to believe in him.
But the impact of Francis Amuzu, in a very different style, is undeniable, and depending on whether or not Vincent Kompany clings to his system without real wingers, unconvincing in Bruges, the 23-year-old from RB Salzburg could well eventually leave the starting eleven.
Majeed Ashimeru joined RSC Anderlecht on loan during the winter transfer from RB Salzburg. He has played six games, scoring once for the Purple and White in the Belgian Pro League this season.
