Russia banned from next 2 Olympics and World Cup event as the Court of Arbitration for Sport on Thursday partly upheld a suspension imposed on them for breaching anti-doping rules.
According to Graham Dunbar of the Associated Press, the country’s name, flag and anthem will be banned at the next two Olympics and any world championship events for the next two years.
Russian athletics are still eligible to compete in the Tokyo Games in 2021, Olympics in Beijing in 2022, and the 2022 World Cup in Qatar provided they were not part of the doping scandal.
The International Olympic Committee banned Russia from the PyeongChang Olympics in 2018 after detecting doping among the Russian athletes.
